New car park charges make life a misery for residents

The introduction of new car park charges by Newark & Sherwood District is only going to exacerbate the problems that residents of the Sleaford Road/Newstead Avenue/Lawrence Street experience when trying to park near their homes.

Charges have been increased at all Newark car parks and have been introduced for evening and Sunday parking. Instead of paying the extra charges drivers are going to try to park for free in residential areas where parking is already a problem for residents. The incidents of dangerous parking near road junctions will also increase leading to injury and death to cyclists, pedestrians and motorists.

How long will it take for Newark & Sherwood District Councillors to wake up to the problems their short-sighted policy is causing?

The scandalous increase of car park fees is to my mind a deliberate policy of profiteering and once again the poor motorist is forced to give financial support that could help with costs like £100,000 salaries and the considerably too big and costly Kelham Hall headquarters of the Newark and Sherwood District Council

It’s time the sheepish people of this nation gave the order of the boot to all that would seek to take advantage of the people. United, we can stand and our will shall be done, divided we must pay and pay and pay.

Lucky for them that we are too damn idol to get off our backside and protest by the millions and fight against the powers that be, lucky for them that by our nature we are sheeplike towards our dictators that live a comfortable prosperous life while we struggle to make ends meet.

There is something very wrong and what is partly wrong is that we are too damn passive for our own good lacking in energy and determination to oppose robbery by extreme taxation.

To fill the family car with diesel should cost £31 but with the appalling and immoral tax added to that fuel bill we have to pay £75 and if that is not using the motorist like a cash machine then I’m sure I don’t know what is.
