Newark-On-Trent next campaign trail for local election 2011

Laurence Goff age 59

I believes in being an active  Councillor for the good of Newark, dealing with the individual needs, and also providing a voice for the people all year round.

Your view need to be heard loud and clear?

I won an  important local election in Newark -On-Trent on Newark town council.   I will build up a local knowledge if some thing like work man are digging up the road, I will be expected to know what they’re going to who long it will take if you phone me. I will be calling to many home in the next few weeks, if you would like a visit or a phone call please ring me 01636-681878 email

Some of my interest are safe guarding  Newark Cemetery many problems at many have included vandalism. I am a member and Vice Chairman Friends of Newark Cemetery we need to safe guard our Cemetery together. For 12 years I have been caring for the elderly people in Newark.                                       A member Newark  St John Ambulance giving my support with first aider duties around the town for 11 years.   I have raised funds for the homeless charity Framework for the last few years.

LET’S ALL CYCLE TO WORK AND SCHOOL, WHICH IS GOOD FOR YOUR HEALTH
I cycled around Newark area, for 11 years. I will use my bike to visit many of you. Cycling is fun, green and healthy.

There are over 38 million empty seats on the UK’s roads every day. Why not ‘make the most of it’ by sharing lifts? There are over 38 million empty seats on the UK’s roads every day. Why not ‘make the most of it’ by sharing a lifts? 50% of commuters say they would be willing to share a car if they could find someone suitable to travel with. Commuters should be nice to bike riders.

The days are starting to get longer and the weather is getting warmer. There’s nothing better than passing these cars when the traffic is bad on Newark Road. More cycle track trails are needed in Newark, is a life line to people that cycle.

Cars have been racing racing around for years. Residents have voiced their concerns to me. No journey is urgent. Pedestrians’ Nightmare! Speeding has to be the No1 most dangerous activity you can embark on.

I believes passionately that, this country needs  more Independent MP’s and Council  for the good of our community,  this  includes and represents all the people.

I will be actively involved and committed to representing you wholeheartedly throughout the next few years together.

Let’s phone a family or neighbour, check to see if an elderly

We should make an effort to help those less fortunate than we are – many people who will have nothing with which to celebrate each day.

Many will provides support and material help to people in crisis all year round from the Churches across  the UK give their support.

Volunteers will give lunch and food baskets to less fortunate other the year ahead. Let’s give an opportunity to provide a smile to all and everyone.

This new opportunity for our community to come together and reflect and give out our great community spirit to one and all alike. More people now live alone than ever before let’s give a helping hand. It is time to listen to the elderly or children crying out, who are living alone.

One more thing let’s phone a family or neighbour over this new year, check to see if an elderly friend living alone is ok.
More people now live alone than ever before.

Hopefully, that memory of this  message will be etched in each one of our us. Let’s reminds you not to drink and drive.  Celebrating for one and all every day.

LET’S DO THE RIGHT THING AND STOP THE BNP

LAURENCE GOFF

LET’S Stop the RACIST GROUP

Let’s stop them next time

The RACIST GROUP are now poised for a real political breakthrough in  our area, if we let them. The local elections also show that once the RACIST GROUP win a council seats. It takes longer to defeat them and makes it easier for them to gain more councillors.

The local elections confirmed the trend of rising  RACIST GROUP support, which has accelerated dramatically over the last few years. Preventing the BNP have 2 gains in the European Parliament and few more councillors since 2009.  It is crucial that we all work together next time.    The real story of this past elections though is how the BNP have become normalised with the electorate. THIS is now making a serious mark on all of us.

The political landscape in the East Midlands.
They contest a record number of seats in  June elections 2009 and we will need more people to come forward as potential candidates and activists. Now is the time to get
involved, be a part of history and help stop them being
elected in Nottinghamshire. A stain on our democratic way of life.

WE must stop the propaganda and preaching the hate message of racism. The racist group is notnot present itself as a mainstream political party concerned with immigration and crime. But it is not a legitimate party in the same sense as others.

Racism must not be allowed to flourish. The message must be received and understood, in every corner of our society, in our streets and prisons, in the services, in the workplace, on public transport, in hospitals, public houses and clubs, that racism is evil. It cannot co-exist with fairness and justice. It is incompatible with democratic civilisation.

Let’s stand up for respect, dignity and diversity
Politics will be very damaging as the racist BNP have won in  European and local election 0n 4th JUNE 2009 . The party exacerbates the social problems we already have, and causes new problems….Its appeal is insidious, divisive and dangerous. I do not think Christians should be silent or inactive.I encourages people to vote in  the general election that has to take place june 2010. I also urge people not to vote for candidates who promote racist policies.
We should practise and promote racial justice and inclusion and reject any political party that attempts to stir up racial and religious hatred and fear or asylum seekers.

We should be affected by the words of hate, these extremists will be bad for Newark,  Nottinghamshire across the UK. We must give our trust in the voters and stand up for jusice for all the people. We must bracing for backlash as voters give their verdict in 2010 around THE  UK and Nottinghamshire. In  and around the country the racists group are sensing a breakthrough. They will be fielding a record number of candidates for the UK Parliament next year.

Migration from around the World & Eastern Europe to the UK which has been good. We should not be frightened and most not ignore the hate message which will be dangerous for the  UK .

The political class as a whole is often frightened of engaging in the very difficult issues of race and the racist group can then exploits that and try and create the message of Racial hate. The reality which is that we need to promote its achievements these last few years we should be saying thanks for helping in the many factories around the UK.

In a democracy we should have all opinions. We should debate whether mass immigration has been good thing for the UK, I personal think so. NEWARK is thriving thanks to the many that come to our area to work. If we are going to counter The racist group we need to go out & engage in a very direct way with all our voters 2010.
I WILL be the first to stand up to them let’s stop the breakthrough of The RACIST BNP.

CYCLING OF HEALTH IN AND AROUND NEWARK

CYCLING WHICH IS GOOD FOR YOUR HEALTH.

Cycling is fun, fast, green and healthy. That’s why I want you to spend more time pedalling. Cycling kids are confident kids, more independent and brainier to boot. Just 15 minutes cycling to work or school could make a real difference to your fitness, establishing habits of healthy activity that could be life-long.

Cycling makes you fitter, more alert, cleverer A more active lifestyle now, continued into adulthood, would greatly improve your child’s chance of living a long and healthy life. Physical inactivity is a far greater cause of heart disease than smoking, yet we take it much less seriously. Daily exercise has many immediate benefits as well. They include improved bone strength, muscle tone, healthier joints, increased alertness and improved academic performance. Teachers often comment that children who walk or cycle to school arrive brighter and more ready to learn than those driven by car, and a recent US study showed a positive link between physical activity and performance in school tests.

And don’t let the kids have all the fun, cycle with your children to school. Use the ’school run’ as the kick-start to better health you’ve been planning for ages. Cycling to school will save you money on busfares or petrol and is often quicker than getting into the car and getting snarled up in traffic.

There are many million empty seats on the UK’s roads every day. Why not ‘make the most of it’ by sharing lifts? There are also millions empty seats on the UK’s roads every day. Why not ‘make the most of it’ by sharing a lifts? 50% of commuters say they would be willing to share a car if they could find someone suitable to travel with.

Commuters should be nice to bike riders, I use my bike EVERY day to work, and any free time. The days are starting to get longer and the weather is getting warmer. Spring is one of the best times of the year to get back on your bike or to start cycling for the first time. There’s nothing better than passing these cars when the traffic is bad. This cycle track on Beacon Hill Road-London Road, Newark, to Newark Nothgate Station. This been a life line to the good people that use the cycle track each day.

Cycling through the traffic – it’s good for the environment and great for your health, I happy to use it each day. On traffic-free routes, particularly in the Newark areas, we are seeing a very significant uptake in use.

The benefits of cycling are far-reaching… Not only does it allow YOU to save time and money, but there are massive benefits to your health and environment too.

Cycling to work or have your Children is a very good going to school is sociable. Cycling encourages independence for me which I have been do for around Newark for the last 11 years.

There are very few people whose death can be said to have shocked the whole world.

All of this will never be known but what is known is that 31 August 1997 is a …. I will never forget the morning.

When the news of Princess Diana’s death broke, it seemed unbelievable and unthinkable.
I was going into work that Sunday morning as a carer and heard about the death of Dianna.  Yet, ten years on, it seems not much has changed. … Our Princess will forever be remember as a caring, loving human being..

PROTECTION THE RIGHTS OF OUR WORKERS COMING INTO THE UK

We need protection from violence, exploitation and abuse for Asylum & Immigration to the UK

Illegal immigrants amnesty call is needed badly

It would be interesting to know of peoples views about  migrants  Newark local paper, 23rd November 2007. Lorry loads of misery two of 15 illegal immigrants brought into the UK this week were found close to death after being locked in lorries for four days with no light and little water.  This topic has been brought to the forefront thanks to your reporting  in our local weekly news paper.Trafficking is a violation of fundamental exploitation and abuse in the first place. We need rights for young and older people coming to the UK.

Giving an amnesty to illegal immigrants people living illegally in the UK could raise billards in taxes.

I personal believe asylum seekers have a right of refuge, and that immigrants are important to the Newark and the UK economically and provide diverse communities. Let’s Campaigners and call for better treatment of asylum seekers wanting to work and better processing system.

Some people  might believe Britain cannot cope with the number of immigrants and asylum seekers coming into the country, and call for tighter regulation. Some also feel immigration is causing Britain to lose its cultural identity.

I challenge all churches, faith communities, development agencies and  government, local and national to work hand in hand for the good of all.

The National Minimum Wage migrants abuse

We need an effective enforcement is essential for the success of the National Minimum Wage. The vulnerable workers are often unaware of their employment rights, including those relating to the Minimum Wage, or fearful of taking any action to enforce them.

Trades Union Congress – Tackling trafficking through workersrights

  • Citizens in the European Union and the European Economic Area are allowed to live, work and study in the UK without having to obtain special permission.

If people who have been working continuously in the UK for four years with a work permit, and who are still required by their employer, can apply for ‘indefinite leave to remain. They are considered to be permanently settled. After five years living in the UK, or three years if they are married to someone from the UK, foreign nationals can apply to naturalise as British citizens.
Those who came to the UK under the highly skilled migrant programme can also apply for indefinite leave to remain after they have been resident for four years.

The cost of finding and deporting illegal immigrants would be outweighed by the gains from taxing them in the first place.

This are my personal views

MISS OUT FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

I believe passionately that the highest kind of service a person can give to their community is serving

I also believe that Members of community have a moral duty to provide strong leadership to the younger generation and to prepare them for future roles & responsibilities.  Furthermore, we requires several strong and credible voices to promote the  inclusive approach that recognizes all people in all walks of life.

More bright, young under 35-year-olds are needed on local councils across the country to make them more representative of the area.

Council is risk becoming a Council for over 70’s, with increasingly ageing Councillors led by an unchallenged old guard.

We have just two who are under 28 on Newark Town council chamber.  Newark & Sherwood District Council we have non. We have a missing generation of people in the 18-30 age group.  Let’s put life into Newark town, let’s encourage younger talent around the Country.

Finding it hard to recruit candidates for local government talent is all around us we are just not looking in the right places.

Research shows the average age of councillors has risen to 57, with almost 40% retired. The average councillor in England and Wales is 57-years-old, white and retired, I am 59. Most are in there late 60’s or 70’s.

It is now time we be talent spotters of the young and those under 30 who have the potential to become local leaders  in a few years time.

We can’t see how someone in their 60’s or 70’s can easily represent the views of someone who is a teenager or in their 20s.
